Agelink Theatre

Provides high quality, professional intergenerational and interactive travelling theatre productions that are based on the oral histories and recollections of our seniors. Our motto is that memories nourish the soul and our performances are filled with music, song, and laughter. Our aim is to celebrate the human spirit.

$1,000:

  • finance a dementia or high care facility for 6 weeks of weekly visits by our Recapture the Moment team who perform for the residents in an interactive manner using music and a reminiscence box of objects. Or purchase up to date office equipment.

$5,000:

  • finance the production of a Living Histories project (set, costumes, props, venue) or purchase audio visual & lighting equipment needed for touring shows

$10,000: 

  • create an entirely new small scale show or offer a group of 20 – 30 seniors 12 months training in performance skills and devising their own show

 

Autism West

Autism West see the potential for people with autism and use a strength- based approach in social groups for kids, teenagers and young adults.  These programs provide unique opportunities for young people on the autism spectrum to gains skills and experience, enabling them to connect successfully with others and the world around them.

$1,000:

  • Renew resources for a current YES Group; including a new projector, updated puzzles, cooking equipment and craft supplies etc.

$5,000:

  • Employ a Life Skills Coach to work at a current YES Group to work with a few teenagers at a time to establish bus routes and community activities and experiences.

$10,000:

  • Employ a Careers Coach for a current YES Group to assist with further education and employment choices.

A locally cherished, nationally significant theatre company that runs The Gecko Ensemble(s) program; an inclusive, drama-based program designed to create a joyful, safe and supportive environment for young people to take creative risks and explore the full extent of their expressive potential. This is about learning through highly structured drama activities in a creatively charged environment.

$1,000:

  • Join Barking Gecko’s Commissioning Circle – a group of individuals who collectively support the commissioning and creative development of a new theatre for children and teens

$5,000:

  • Comprehensive training and development of an additional Teaching Artist from regional WA or Professional video documentation and editing of the Gecko Ensemble program

$10,000:

  • A Gecko Ensemble program for 15 at risk youth or Commission a playwright to write a new theatre work for children designed for touring.

BirdLife Australia’s primary objective is to improve conservation outcomes for Australian birds and promote appreciation and understanding of Australian birds. We do this through advocacy, study, science and education to deliver conservation outcomes for Australian birds.

  • Could fund a research symposium or a series of educational community workshops

edconnect (School Volunteers Program)

We connect volunteers with young people in school who need additional support, inspiring older generations to inspire the next. The team at EdConnect has been training volunteers and connecting them with local schools across Australia for over 20 years. At any one time, we have over 1,300 volunteers active in more than 260 schools across the country.

$1,000: 

  • assist in supporting one or more of our volunteer events and celebrations that take place throughout the year in order to acknowledge our volunteers hard work and dedication.

$5,000:

  • support 20 vulnerable and at risk students and two schools both here in WA

$10,000:

  • would enable The School Volunteer Program to support 30 vulnerable and at risk students for a school year in three schools

edmund rice camps

A non-profit community based organisation that serves the needs of children aged 716 and their families and supports the personal development of young adult volunteers who serve as friends and mentors to the children in our care. We provide camps and other recreational and developmental activities for children who would not otherwise have such opportunities

  • Directly fund expenses for a Fun Fest Activity including 15 disadvantaged kids and 15 volunteers or directly fund expenses for an Eddie Friends mentoring group for 1 year

$5,000:

  • Support a residential Mega Camp for 25 disadvantaged kids and 25 volunteers

  • Directly fund expenses for the Families Program for 1 year, covering Mini Camps, Fun Fest activities for 15 families and 30-40 volunteers

EON Foundation

Delivers a food and nutrition focused healthy lifestyle and disease prevention program, now established and proven in 24 Aboriginal communities in Western Australia. We build edible gardens in remote schools and communities for a secure supply of fresh food and partner with them to deliver a hands-on practical gardening, nutrition education, cooking and hygiene program.

$1,000:

  • the cost of 4 new garden beds for a school or community garden

$5,000:

  • all the seeds, seedlings, plants and trees needed for a school or community garden

$10,000:

  • EON cooking and nutrition classes for a school for a year.

 

homeless healthcare (mobile Gp)

Homeless Healthcare is a charity dedicated to providing healthcare to Perth’s homeless and marginally housed.

$1,000:

  • purchase of small items of re-usable medical equipment e.g. sutures, forceps, scissors, Doctor’s head lamps, Spacers for inhalers, disposables such as dressing packs, disinfectant, paper towels etc.

$5,000: 

  • purchase a Phlebotomy chair  $2,000 and a Defibrillator $2,900

huntingtons wa

Provides a range of services to enable the best possible health and well being for Western Australian’s impacted by Huntington’s Disease.

$1,000:

  • Subsidise the annual Huntington’s Youth Forum for 75 Year 10 students and their teachers

$5,000:

  • Support carers by funding a 3 day retreat for 8 carers who manage the daily struggles of caring for a family member with Huntington’s disease as well as providing respite this creates a support network for people experiencing the same devastating situation

$10,000:

  • Would fund school holiday outings for the youth program for a year including a 3 day Getaway during one of these holiday breaks. These activities provide the opportunity for individual and group support and for young people impacted by Huntington’s to connect with each other.

 

leading youth forward (LYF)

Provides mentorships to at-risk Perth teenagers aged 13-15 years. Teens are eligible to participate in LYF on the basis of demonstrated financial, social, emotional or parental hardship.

$1,000: 

  • fund venue hire, equipment or supplies for a Big Day Out event (BDO); or an additional scholarship for a LYF teen to assist them with working towards their career aspirations.

$5,000:

  • can fund an entire BDO (one of four held each year); or the Small Group Activities grants program for an entire year.

$10,000:

  • can fund the Annual LYF Youth Committee program for an entire year; or LYF’s proposed scholarship program for 2 years.

 

Kalparrin

Kalparrin is West Australia’s largest community of families caring for children with disability and additional needs.  Kalparrin is an information and social hub connecting families to support, helping families carry their load by providing practical information and connecting them with the services that they need.

$1000:

  • fund a pizza nights within the hospital for parents and staff to share a relaxed and friendly situation and receive practical advice and emotional support.

$5000:

  • fund a Therapeutic Siblings’ Day: a day where a skilled facilitator comes along to speak and run activities with children who are siblings of special needs kids. The focus would be on building self esteem and emotional resilience, leadership skills and making friends

$10,000:

  • allow us to set up a family assistance scheme to support the families who come in for appointments and find their child has to be admitted.

manna inc

Manna is a compassionate charitable organisation providing hope and dignity to the hungry, the lonely, the disadvantaged and the underprivileged community in Perth, WA.

$1,000:

  • provide a meal to the homeless. Each night Manna feeds up to 140 people a nutritious three course meal.

$5,000:

  • set up a kitchen for a Manna Kids Club Breakfast Programme or provide the food needed to feed 40 children for the 4 weeks of the school year in the Manna Kids Club Breakfast program.

$10,000:

  • put uniforms on 100 children

 

midnight basketball

Midnight Basketball Australia is a national charity that trains and supports approved communities across Australia to implement the social inclusion programme Midnight Basketball to support teenagers to build the skills and confidence to be able to identify and embrace positive opportunities in their lives and the their community.

A grant of $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000 would be used to contribute to the $10,000 Community Grant that Midnight Basketball issues when a community has signed up to deliver a Midnight Basketball tournament. (They give a max of $10,000 per community per tournament).

  • Provide a gifted professional development session with teachers at an Education Support Centre or;
  • Deliver two sensory storytelling sessions at a school or respite centre.

$5,000:

  • Create a permanent sensory installation in an underprivileged special needs primary school or education support centre

  • One-week gifted performance and residency package of The Jub Jub Tree to a metropolitan school;
  • Begin preliminary development with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company to develop a new work aimed at indigenous children with disabilities

  • sponsors 3 kids in remote WA to receive one-to-one tuition on the Rural Program.

$5,000:

  • sponsors the cost of 3 kids in remote WA receiving continuous mentoring and tutoring through the Rural Program and eMentor for 2 full years.

$10,000:

  • funds the cost of TLG sending a team of tutors to a new school for one Rural Program.
