Hi Impact100 WA,
Thanks so much for touching base.
It certainly has been a tumultuous few weeks, but like you said we are all having to adapt our business operations. We are really proud that we were able to re-work our face to face Career Program and establish our Virtual Career Program. Our facilitators and volunteers have been so supportive in assisting us with these changes.
As you would know the numbers of women out of work is on the rise and our services are even more vital. We are working hard to ensure our business survives the next six months so that we can be ready to support the thousands of women that will need to access our full suite of services.
That is very welcome news that your guidelines for grants are changing. I know our organisation has enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with yourself and the donors of Impact 100 WA and that the previous grant was a total game changer for our organisation. I would definitely appreciate notification when the applications go online.
We have been working with women at Boronia Pre-Release Centre, Melaleuca Remand Facility and Bandyup Women’s Prison.
Thanks again for your support and I will be sure to stay in touch.
Kind regards,
Kelli Carnachan

2020-04 COVID 19 Charity emails
An email message from Rachael Hain – Dress for Success Perth, Co-Founder & Chair – 16 April 2020
Today we are reaching out to our community for help. Like many small organisations, Dress for Success
Perth is struggling. While our income has slowed down to almost zero, sadly our expenses have not.
We know our services are more vital and desperately needed than ever before. Over the coming months
many more Western Australian women will urgently need our support in overcoming barriers to
employment to ensure their ultimate financial independence not only for themselves but ultimately their
families.
The situation with the COVID-19 pandemic has meant we can no longer generate income through corporate volunteering days, speaking engagements or fee for service referrals for suiting and styling appointments. We have also had to cancel fundraising clothing sales for the next few months which were projected to raise between $12,000 – $20,000.
So, we have launched an online fundraising campaign to raise $19,341
This will contribute towards paying our expenses including costs such as utilities and insurance for the next six months. This funding will support us in our time of need until we can recommence and provide our full suite of services and generate income.
We are moving forward and adapting as quickly as we can. We have already introduced a FREE virtual career program featuring workshops, one to one advice sessions and email resume support. We want to ensure clients have access to the crucial resources and tools they need to navigate the COVID-19 disruption and beyond.
We are committed to fulfilling our mission and making sure we are still here for the women who need our support. We can’t do it without your help.
This is a challenging time for everyone and we understand this. We would not be asking if our situation was not serious. Ongoing financial support is the lifeline to our organisation to maintain our operations and continue to provide new solutions to assist our clients in their time of need. If you can, please consider donating today.
On behalf of the Dress for Success Perth Board, Staff, Volunteers and most importantly the women we assist in our West Australian community, we thank you for your continued generosity and support.
