Busselton Hospice Care – Coastal Companions Project
Recruit a coordinator to effectively recruit, train and manage volunteers. Will enable them to increase the number and specifically train them to go out to people’s homes (keeping them in their own homes for longer). They will provide respite care and practical assistance as well as social, emotional and spiritual support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and to their carers/support crew, too. To benefit 200 individuals over 2 years.
Constable Care – Reel Talk: Film-making Pgm for At-risk Youth
Deliver 50 x 2hr ongoing workshops at Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre – 16 high-risk 10-18yr olds in each. Led by 3 highly-skilled professional facilitators, each session includes philosophical discussion about issues/challenges then short-film creation (in whatever role best suits). Fosters critical thinking, ethical reasoning, decision-making, collaborative and practical skills – helping to manage future challenges and support mental health and well-being. Project over 18 months to benefit 1000 people (includes audience and staff).
Sam’s Spares – The G1G1 Project – Get One, Give One
Create pgm whereby someone purchasing refurbished tech directly funds provision of one to someone in genuine need. Other benefits: reducing the mountains of e-waste and the creation of training and genuine, valuable employment for neurodivergent individuals. Will enable them to scale up their sales model towards becoming a social enterprise. To benefit 2000+ people.
Short Back and Sidewalks – Metro Perth Expansion
Establish and embed 4 new outer metro locations for monthly free haircutting services for those experiencing homelessness and poverty. Pgm manager, marketing/comms, engagement, training and induction/management of volunteers. To provide 1000-2000 service contacts with homeless people in the wider metro area over 1 year.
Transfolk WA – Expanded Gender-Affirming Resources Pgm
Enhance pgm to provide free access to essential items for trans and gender diverse individuals. Prioritise access for those facing significant barriers. Used as an opening to provide access other resources/info. Reducing significant mental health issues and therefore the current/future cost to the govt. Using this to prove concept and get financial support from Mental Health Commission. Over 2 years to benefit 200+ people
