True to form, the rain returned for our 2nd Assessment Evening on Wednesday this week as the intrepid donors to Impact100 WA gathered for the important task of choosing our finalists who will be presenting at our Grant Awards Dinner in October.
The shortlisted options we had to choose between were varied and interesting – we’d loved them at the first assessment evening. Full applications reveal more, but the site visits are where we can really dig into what they are about and it was wonderful to see how many people were eager to get out and meet the teams and poke around under the hood, gathering a whole lot more information on all of them.
Donors old and new came together – some to listen and learn, some to contribute their wisdom and ALL of us with the desire to spend our pooled funds in the most powerful way possible. We discussed the merits and risks of the shortlisted initiatives:
- who/what will they benefit,
- why are they important,
- what will be their outcomes (both short- and long-term),
- are they likely to be able to keep it running beyond our grant
- and more…
The beauty of the Impact100 WA ‘collective giving‘ model is that no one person has to make the decision, donors vote according to what they feel is important and we move forward with the most popular ones.
So we are delighted to announce the following five organisations as our Finalists for 2025:
- Busselton Hospice Care – Coastal Companions Project
- Constable Care – Reel Talk: Film-making Pgm for At-Risk Youth
- Sam’s Spares – The G1G1 Project – Get One, Give One
- Short Back & Sidewalks – Metro Perth Expansion
- Transfolk WA – Expanding Gender-Affirming Resources Pgm

Each of these five will be presenting their case in person at our 2025 Grant Awards Dinner on Friday 24th October. Mark the date in your calendar – invitations will be winging their way to all donors very soon.
